My work as a psychologist is not simply a career; it is a calling. I have practiced psychology since becoming licensed in 1990. I love what I do.

My main theoretical approaches are CBT and ACT. While CBT is understood by most, ACT is not, hence the explanation:

Acceptance-based psychotherapy is an evidence-based approach that teaches how to deal with life’s unavoidable pains. In doing so, we gain greater control over our emotions, our actions, our interactions and ourselves.

‘We become more mindful and self-aware. We become more self-compassionate and forgiving. Thus, Self-blame decreases. Over time, we become more in touch with our thoughts, our feelings, our experiences, ourselves. As we clarify what really matters to us, we are in a far better position to choose how to navigate our life.

So, move over from the passenger’s seat into the driver’s seat. Take control rather than be controlled by life, people, places, and things. You recognize that you have choices. You run the show! That’s freedom!
